How to Choose the Right Photographer for Your Event
Finding the right photographer for your wedding, party, or event can feel like a big decision. The photos you take away will be your memories long after the cake’s been eaten and the dance floor’s packed away. Here’s my honest advice as someone who’s been behind the camera at countless Manchester events.
1. Do you like their style?
Sounds obvious, but it’s key. Do their photos feel natural? Too posed? Too filtered? You want someone whose images match your vibe.
2. Check their experience
Have they shot similar events before? If you’re planning a low-light party, or a fast-paced sports event, they need to be comfortable in that space.
3. Talk to them
A quick chat can tell you so much. Are they calm and friendly? Do they listen? On the day, your photographer is a big presence, so personality matters.
4. What’s in the package?
Clarify how many hours, how many edited images, how long the turnaround is, and whether you’ll get an online gallery.
5. Read the reviews
Past clients will tell you a lot about reliability, professionalism, and how they felt being photographed.
When you’re ready, I’m happy to jump on a call or meet for a coffee to see if I’m the right fit for your event. I work all across Manchester and the North West, and I keep things relaxed and straightforward—no hard sell, just beautiful, honest photography.
